Baggage Fee Calculator: Check Bags by Fare and Date

Enter your airline, fare, route and each checked bag. See a listed standard fee when your details match, or find out what to ask the airline.

Trying to budget for checked bags? Start with the airline flying your trip, then add each traveler’s bags. If we can’t confirm the whole charge, the result will tell you what’s missing.

Before you start

These tools help you plan. They don’t take payment or decide whether an airline will accept a bag. When a price or limit is missing, check it with the airline.

Flight and fare

Airport codes are a reference for you; this tool does not infer a route from them. Choose the route category from your actual itinerary.

Checked bags by passenger
Optional return direction

Use this only if the return uses the same carrier, fare, route, benefit, payment stage and bags. Otherwise, run each direction separately.

After you get a result

Compare it with your ticket, the airline flying each leg, and the final price in its booking flow. If you’re flying round trip, check both directions.

What this tool can tell you

This tool can estimate the first or second standard checked bag for certain American and Southwest U.S. trips. If a bag is heavy, large, or beyond the second piece, you may see only part of the cost. That’s your cue to check the full price with the airline.

Try an example

Try a 48 lb American Main Cabin bag measuring 55 linear inches on an eligible domestic trip ticketed after April 9, 2026. Then change it to 52 lb. The listed bag charge may still appear, but the full cost is no longer known.

Open the airline link in your result before you pay. You don’t need to enter a booking number, passport, or payment details here.
